Overspeed protection : When the elevator speed exceeds the set threshold (such as 115% of the rated speed), the speed governor will immediately trigger the safety brake to prevent the car from falling or hitting the top.
Uncontrolled braking : In the event of sudden situations such as elevator traction machine failure or power outage, the speed governor uses mechanical or electronic mechanisms to balance the load and prevent the car from continuing to move due to inertia.
Linked safety brake : The speed limiter and safety brake form a closed-loop protection. The safety brake is pulled by a steel wire rope or sensor signal to clamp the guide rail, thereby achieving forced stopping.
Status monitoring : Some intelligent speed limiters may have operational data acquisition capabilities to assist elevator maintenance departments in performance evaluation.
