The Lingao speed limiter GV 240 G 03 is used in elevators to control the elevator's speed and, when necessary, trigger the safety brake to stop the elevator to ensure passenger safety.

An elevator speed governor is a device that protects passenger safety by limiting the elevator's operating speed. When the elevator speed exceeds the set safe speed, the speed governor pulls the brake via a rope, forcing the elevator to slow down until it stops, preventing overspeed accidents. Furthermore, the speed governor can effectively save elevator energy consumption, reduce operating costs, and automatically adjust the elevator according to operating conditions to achieve comfort and meet different levels of safety requirements.

 

I. Safety Protection: Preventing the Risk of Speeding and Loss of Control

Overspeed protection : When the elevator's downward speed exceeds 115% of the rated speed or the upward speed exceeds the rated speed, GV240G03 will immediately activate the safety clamp through an internal mechanical or electronic triggering mechanism, forcing the car to stop urgently on the guide rail to avoid a fall or overshoot accident.

Emergency response : If the elevator traction system fails (such as a broken wire rope or slippage of the traction sheave), the speed governor can use the wire rope to link with the safety brake to achieve rigid braking before the car overspeeds, preventing loss of control due to inertia.

 

II. Speed Control: Optimizing Operational Stability

Routine speed monitoring : During normal elevator operation, GV240G03 continuously monitors the car speed to ensure that the speed during no-load, full-load, and braking phases is within the design range (e.g., for elevators with a rated speed of 2.5 m/s, the speed limiter trigger threshold is usually set to 3.0 m/s).

Dynamic adjustment function : Some models support linkage with the elevator control system, which uses feedback speed signals to help optimize acceleration and deceleration curves, reduce the feeling of jerking during operation, and improve the passenger experience.

 

III. System Collaboration: Linked Security Components

Safety clamp triggering : The speed limiter and safety clamp form an "overspeed-braking" closed loop. The mechanical action of GV240G03 (such as the centrifugal block being thrown out and the pawl engaging) directly pulls the safety clamp wedge to clamp the guide rail, thus achieving physical braking.

Electrical safety circuit : As an important node in the elevator safety circuit, its action signal will simultaneously cut off the elevator's main power supply to prevent the risk of secondary restart and trigger the alarm device to notify maintenance personnel.
